Donations, community support, and business partnerships allow us to improve our services while expanding our community safety, training, and preparedness efforts in our growing city.

🚨Smoke Alarm Installation Blitz 🚨
On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the Jackson Fire Department will conduct a citywide Smoke Alarm Installation Blitz as part of #ProjectESCAPE.
From 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., firefighters will focus on previously received smoke alarm requests while also working to expand smoke alarm coverage and provide fire safety education throughout the community.
Remember: In a home fire, you may only have 3–4 minutes to escape safely. Working smoke alarms, sleeping with bedroom doors closed, and practicing your home escape plan can save lives.
🔥 Plan A: Doors
🔥 Plan B: Windows
🔥 Plan C: Defend Your Space

Sometimes the calls we respond to don't end when the fire is out.
Earlier this month, Jackson Fire Department crews responded to a residential fire and were able to quickly contain it, helping prevent significant damage to a neighboring home.
Recently, the residents of that neighboring home stopped by Station 2 with snacks and a heartfelt note of gratitude for A Shift crews. While firefighters never expect recognition for doing their job, gestures like these mean more than words can express.
We're grateful to serve a community that supports us just as much as we support them. To the thoughtful residents who brightened our crews' day—thank you! Your kindness is a reminder of why we do what we do.
And yes, the snacks disappeared almost as quickly as the fire did. 🚒❤️ ... See MoreSee Less
