The Jackson Fire + Rescue Community Safety Fund
Did you know: City funding covers essential fire rescue support, but there are limitations to funding progressive community safety advancements. Over 94% of our annual operating budget is allocated toward department salaries and benefits. Donations, community support, and business partnerships allow us to improve our services while expanding our community safety, training, and preparedness efforts in our growing city.
We’re proud to accept donations from individuals, local businesses, and corporations to support the mission of Jackson Fire & Rescue Department. These generous contributions strengthen our fire and life safety initiatives, extend training for our personnel, and invest in advanced technology to better serve our community. Your support truly makes a lasting impact on the safety and well-being of everyone we serve.
Your donation to the Jackson Fire & Rescue Community Safety Fund strengthens our ability to protect local life and property through fire rescue, prevention, and emergency medical response.

“The Weight They Carry”
Bunker pants and fire boots, worn with pride,
Stand ready at truck side, side by side.
Scuffed and soot-stained, worn but true,
They speak of every fire they've walked through.
They carry the weight of long, hard nights,
Of smoky halls and flashing lights.
Of children’s cries and silent prayers,
Of courage found on every stair.
Inside the boots, the memory stays—
Of steps through flame and darkened haze.
Of running when most turn away,
Of holding hope at break of day.
The pants, thick-lined and heavy with ash,
Know the rhythm of the lightning flash.
They hold the ache of muscles sore,
The strength to always do one more.
They carry sweat, and fear, and grit,
The stories few would dare admit.
The final hug before the shift,
The lives once saved—each one a gift.
They bear the sorrows, buried deep—
Of calls that haunt, the scars unseen.
Yet never do they hesitate,
They rise with every tone and fate.
So hang them high when shift is through,
But know they're more than just the view—
They’re armor worn in service deep,
In dreams they guard us while we sleep.
Bunker pants and fire boots—worn, not worn out,
Echoing bravery, never doubt.
They speak not loud, but always true—
Of every soul who dares walk through. ... See MoreSee Less

🎇 The 4th is Over… Now What? 🎇
Still got fireworks leftover? Don’t worry—you’re not the only one with a stash for New Year’s in the sock drawer, tool box, or "definitely-safe" garage shelf. 😂
Here are some firework storage tips so your leftovers don’t go boom before 2026:
🔥 Cool, dry, boring place – Fireworks hate drama. Store them away from heat, moisture, and sunlight.
🚫 Not in the house! – We know the garage feels safe, but avoid storing near vehicles, heaters, or fuel.
🔒 Keep them out of reach – Fireworks and curious kids (or pets!) are not a good mix. Lock them up or store high.
📦 Original packaging is key – It’s not just for looks. It helps keep them stable and labeled.
🧯 Treat them like explosives – Because… well, they are. Store away from anything flammable, including that mystery gas can.
We want your New Year’s in Jackson to sparkle safely—just like the 4th did. ✨

🚨 Last night around 9:30 PM Jackson Fire units Engine 77, Engine 52, Rescue 2, Medic 61, Truck 6, Truck 5 and Battalion 2 were dispatched to a report of smoke in a residence. Truck 6 and Medic 61 arrived on scene within 5 minutes. While no fire was found, crews discovered a light haze, odor, and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms sounding. A resident who reported feeling unwell was evaluated by Medic 61 & EMS.
CO levels were found to be dangerously high—likely caused by a vehicle left running in the garage. The home was ventilated and cleared, and no injuries were reported.
⚠️ Reminder: Never leave a vehicle running inside a garage. Carbon monoxide is odorless, colorless, and potentially deadly. Stay safe, Jackson! 💨🛑 ... See MoreSee Less
